That’s a wrap on Portland Open Studios 2025

Thanks to my amazing location in the Alberta Arts District in NE Portland, I had nearly 250 come through my art studio in October as part of the annual city-wide tour of working artist studios. I mad so many fun connections, sold several original art works, many reproductions, cards, and bargains, and gained a fresh enthusiasm for my encaustic practice.

Was it worth it? Absolutely. Will I do it again next year? If I jury in, absolutely!

One very important side benefit: I met several other artists in my neighborhood, and I’m looking forward to collaborating and brainstorming on ways to support each other in the coming year.

Thanks to everyone who made this event possible.

Acrylic paintings for sale will include new work from my Codex Obscura series.

During Weekend Two (October 18-19), I’ll be demonstrating my my encaustic making process.

I plan to show the work from my month as Everglades National Park Artist in Residence, including poems written from that time that are paired with encaustic paintings.

I’ll also be showing a collection of encaustic landscapes from the Summer Lake area of Eastern Oregon that have never appeared outside my home and studio.

Plus a bunch of other fun originals never before offered for sale.

I invite you to join my mailing list.
